Rolling Wave Planning

Defintion

An iterative approach to planning. Instead of planning out the entire project in detail in advance, this approach focuses on only planning near-term activities in detail. Mid and long-term activities are only broadly sketched out. In projects with changing requirements, this 'rolling' approach can be effective since it avoids overplanning of activities that might eventually change.
